Just for Fun a Quiz: What Kind of Modern Tradition Witch Are You?
So if we strip Hedgecraft right down to its basic elements, what makes a Hedgewitch a Hedgewitch?
The basic fundamentals of Hedgecraft would be (in my humble opinion):
A deep respect, even reverence, for Nature and the Earth
The practise of folk (low) magick
Shamanic practice or actually being a shaman
The practice of some form of healing (herbalism, crystal healing, massage therapy, midwifery etc)
Magickal herbalism
Being drawn to the borders between civilization and the wild, a love for rural and/or natural places.
Wildcrafting
Being something of an outsider or misfit, or just a lovely different or eclectic personality
A simple, practical and individualized style of ritual and spellwork that is spontaneous and Nature inspired
Working with (or working for) plants and/or animals
A (usually) solitary practice that is community-minded
Working with Nature spirits and other entities such as ancestor spirits, elementals, totems etc
Blending both old and new traditions into a workable modern practice
Working and living in tandem with the cycle of the seasons and the rhythms of Nature (or striving to, anyways)
The use of trance inducing herbs is a very traditional part of Hedgecraft (and possibly the oldest tradition within Hedgecraft) In modern times, with modern laws and concerns; this is less prevalent as in past times
Studying and gaining an understanding of the natural world
A blend of Nature and domestic magick
The study of folklore, healing and magickal traditions

This witch knows how to make things grow.
A Gardenwitch practices her magick and rituals mostly in a cultivated garden. She studies herbs, flowers, veggies and anything you would grow in a garden. As well she will study the cycle of the seasons, climate, weather, when to plant, when to harvest and such.
She will have a well-tended yard and garden, and love to spend her free time weeding, planting, pruning and tending her lawn and garden.
Her tools will mostly be garden tools and natural, practical tools she has crafted herself. Such as pruning shears, a shovel or digging stick, a garden trowel, a watering can, wooden wands and staffs, and besoms.
She will have a shrine and/or altar set up in her garden, and possibly in her home as well.
Her patron deities and Goddess will likely be deities of agriculture, the harvest, and nature.
