When I was a little girl, probably in 2nd. or 3 rd. grade I had a habit of doodling (drawing aimlessly, or daydreaming drawing)while the teacher talked in class. I remember that I would doodle the same image all through the years. I remember that I would always draw the same figure along with other things, but this female figure was always the same . I had forgotten this habit, years ago, but a few years ago, I had bought an Inanna Goddess silver pendant and I had  it for awhile, then one day while we were going down the road and I was just daydreaming and fiddling with my goddess pendant, I was looking at her from her backsides and it brought back those memories of me doodling this image, I would draw a woman with a fat bottom and thin top and if you out line the picture above, that was the image I had been drawing all those years!!Could there be some connection ? Could I have all those years been drawn to her? Interesting, because I had never heard of a Goddess, or Inanna till about 10 years ago, so why the connection, because I know the image is of her.

So I did a research into Inanna and found that I had lot of things in my life that corresponded to her symbols and imagery.

The number 8 & 16, my birth name and birth date both=8 added together =16

The planet Venus- as a Taurus my planet is Venus

The snake and serpent- for years I have had a snake visit me in my dreams, in fact I had a huge python tell me in my dream that she was either my mother Goddess, or that Inanna was my Goddess, I could not for the life of me figure out which one it told me.

A lot of the meanings of her various myths , of her descent into the underworld, and just the different stories I read about her, made me connect immediately with her.

I found it curious that in the telling of the death and resurrection of Jesus that He is stated as saying that the sign of Him being buried in the belly of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights would point to Him being who He says He is, but that the Modern Churches today believe that he was in the grave from Friday eve. to Sunday, morning, which in my calculations is  1 day and  2nights.  And they celebrate in remembrance this story during the Festival of Ishtar, Astarte , Ostara (Easter)  Spring, and not when it supposedly happened during the Jewish festival of Passover celebrated next month in April.Now you have  an  even more ancient  story of Inanna being in the Underworld dead for 3 days and 3 nights, and she returns ,  well does that make Her story more true?

Studying about the Goddess and Herstory vs the History of the God, I  find it curious, that when a society honored the Goddess, that women in that society was held in high esteem and they had pretty much the same rights as men, and in some societies the women had more rights than men.

When a society only honored the God, only men in that society had the rights, women were either slaves, or property.

and when a society honors both the Goddess and God as co creators, and equals, so went the societies that worship them.

So with that in mind, one would have to re evaluate whether or not the religion they are in , is one that honors both.

I  know that with Christianity , it really is an eye opener to me, to see that only one half of the equation is honored and women are way low on the totem  pole, it makes one wonder how true can  this religion really be? I know now a days women in this religion are starting to have a say, and be involved in the ministry aspect of it, but could it be because God is beginning to be viewed as Mother/Father God? I know that in the more liberal minded churches, that God is being re imagined as a God that is both Male and Female.
